Managing Director / Plant Manager South Africa (w/m/x)

THE COMPANY

Our customer is a financially well-positioned german Tier 1 supplier.

The product range is available for both combustion engines and electric vehicles, ensuring that our customer is well equipped for the future. The manufacturing technologies used are first-class and benchmark-setting, and the plant equipment is state-of-the-art.

THE POSITION

‒ Reports to the Managing Director of the Group and, in future, to the COO.

‒ Works closely with five fellow plant managers, learning with and from each other.

‒ Directly manages the heads of the Production, Purchasing, Quality Management, Controlling, HR, Occupational Safety, IT, and Production Planning departments. There are local sales representatives who maintain contact with OEMs in South Africa. One sales representative will also receive professional guidance.

‒ This position is being refilled. The group's management has decided to appoint a new Managing Director. The current incumbent has been with BORBET for over ten years and has excellent contacts with the authorities. For this reason, the company is considering retaining him for this area of responsibility.

‒ Prices are negotiated centrally. For this reason, the job holder has little influence on sales. The levers for change lie in sustainably improving productivity and quality and reducing costs.

THE MAIN TASKS

‒ Budget planning, management, and control.

‒ Management of operational activities. Control via KPIs and optimization of KPIs. Regular communication with direct employees. Presence on the shop floor is a basic requirement for sustainable success.

‒ Analysis and optimization of the existing process landscape and introduction and implementation of a living factory structure.

‒ Empowering direct managers to develop and demonstrably implement measures for staff training and development. Ensuring that supervisors truly lead their employees and that discipline is practiced.
